Sleep tight! [Posted by Elaienar on October 29th, 2015, 5:26 pm]

Happy Halloween! Thanks for reading, and I hope you enjoyed The Story of a Lonely Girl.

If you'd like to see more of my work, you can read my currently running comic, Maria, here on SmackJeeves, on Tapastic, and on Tumblr! I also have an artblog here.

Note: I don't really decide on anything until I've got it down on paper (uh, pixels), so even I don't know if that's a monster wearing a girl suit or a girl with a half-digested monster inside her.

question [Posted by Peridork01 on November 7th, 2016, 10:15 pm]

hey, I was reading this ( it's amazing btw) and I had a question. Do the old owners of thing remember it?

@Peridork01: Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed the story!

Hmm, that's one of the things that I didn't exactly define in the story, and so I honestly don't have a really solid answer for that.

But I think the old owners still have the memories of Thing, but they just stop thinking about it. Rather than saying they remember or don't remember Thing, it's just that at some point other things in their life became more important, and so they don't have any reason to think about Thing any more, or look back on their memories of it.

It probably has something to do with Thing being magical/supernatural, because it's not quite a normal level of forgetting or moving on from an old friend. I also think that if someone were to ask an old owner "Hey, remember when you told me that your best friend was a whiny cat-eating shadow monster?" the owner would be able to remember Thing, but might not be able to decide if it were real, or something they made up and told themselves stories about until it seemed as if it were real.

So it's kind of a vague area. Hope that makes sense!

@Elaienar: Actually that makes perfect sense
